Ajadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava
The expert lectures were delivered on 03.12.2021 in village Mohmadpur, district Gurugram celebrating 75 Years of Independence, Ajadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava . The faculty members, Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Yadav, Dr. Pooja Upadhyay, Asstt. Prof. (Plant Pathology), Dr. Manjeet, Asstt. Prof. (Extension Education) and Dr. Meenakshi Kumari, Asstt. Prof. (Vegetable Science) and 08 students of final year, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and 32 farmers took part in the training programme.
Dr. R.S. Yadav delivered the talk on fertilizer and irrigation application and weed management in wheat, barley, gram and mustard. He also explained the use of saline and good quality water to increase yield of crops. Dr. Meenakshi Kumari gave important tips of good practices of obtaining higher income from vegetables. She asked the farmers to grow exotic vegetables such as lettuce, broccoli, asparagus etc. to get higher income. She advocated the establishment of polyhouses by the farmers to get round the year income from the same piece of land. Dr. Manjeet spoke on the use of mineral mixture to increase milk yield in cattle and buffalos. Farmers were also made aware of important disease preventive measures with no cost. Dr. Pooja Upadhyay explained important diseases of gram, mustard, wheat and vegetable crops and their management. A number of problems of mustard and vegetable crops were raised by the farmers, which were solved on the spot.
