Kisan Goshthi (Farmers’ congregation) at village Dhaud, Jhajjar, Haryana
A Kisan Goshthi (Farmers’ congregation) was organized on 28th February, 2019 at village Dhaud, Jhajjar, Haryana under the theme “Kisan Uday Se Bharat Uday” by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, SGT University, Gurgaon regarding use of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). Approximately 50 farmers participated in the programme. Experts from FAS, Dr. K.R. Dabur, Dean; Dr. S.S. Sharma, Professor; Assistant Professors: Dr. Mohinder Yadav, Dr. N.K. Tiwari, Dr. Pooja Pant, shared detailed information in their respective specialties with the participating farmers. The main domains of the discussion were sustainable agriculture, soil health, organic farming, IPM practices, high density planting in guava and major trends in future agriculture. The students of the faculty also addressed the farmers and took up their problems and solution thereof. The farmers took great interest in all areas of discussion. The audience was so enthused with the information quality that they requested to repeat the event on regular basis in their village.
