Biotecnea club, FASC organised two days educational trip to Chandigarh under guidance of Dr. Sonia Goel on 17th and 18th February 2020. First day Journey started by knowing the science behind probiotics at Yakult, Sonipat. Students of post-graduation of Allied health sciences got detailed microbial aspect of probiotics and discussed with the team of yakult. Further, students team move ahead to NDRI, National Dairy Research institute, Karnal. They visited dairy Mela and Animal Biotechnology department under guidance of Prof. Datta and his hard-working research team. They discussed research work and projects going on at their institute with students along with showcase of wide range of techniques description. On the 2nd day of educational trip students move toward IISER, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research At Mohali, Punjab where we visited their microbiology lab and genetic lab and study their projects going on their labs related to Drosophila evolution and fatty acid metabolism of E.coli and stress problem faced by E.coli during metabolism. And then students enjoyed Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, serene water-body in the foothills of the majestic Shivalik range surrounded by lush greenery then move ahead towards the Rock Garden of Chandigarh and learn about secret project of Nek Chand creation of some figurines and other articles out of the waste material.
