Students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture made an educational trip to Haryana Agro Industry Centre (HAIC), Murthal (Sonepat), a Haryana Govt. undertaking and All India coordinating Research Centre (AICRP) on Mushroom Production along with Faculty members on 14.02.2017. The Centre deals with the research and developmental activities of mushroom production technology. The group was given a demonstration on seeding, spawning, composting, casing and growing technologies of different strains of mushrooms. The demonstrator also explained the technology of mass sterilized spawn . . . . . . production as the centre caters to the mushroom growers of the state.
Honey processing unit was also visited and the procedure of honey processing was explained by the demonstrator. The center provides the facility of processing raw honey to the honey-producers.
The Centre also screened a documentary on mushroom production technology of different strains of mushrooms. In the end there was an interactive session with the group.
Students showed a great enthusiasm and highly appreciated this visit.
