Millet Mela-2023

The following faculties and departments participated in two days Millet Mela from 18-19, December, 2023.

The Millet Mela was inaugurated by Shri Vijay Goyal Ji. The Vice Chancellor of SGT University also graced the occasion. The Vice Chancellor addressed the gathering comprises of school students and other visitors and appraised them of the courses run by SGT University. He also said that the SGT University is graded A+ and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (FASC) is accredited/approved by ICAR. The Vice Chancellor also interacted with the students while they were painting in the ground. The mela activities on both days were coordinated by Dean, FASC Dr. Ashok Kumar and Associate Dean, FASC Dr. Pooja Pant assisted by Mr. Kaushal Sati and Mr. Bharat Bhusan. Prof. (Dr.) Satish Sharma, Director, Approval & Recognition supervised and monitored the activities on both days.

            The different participating faculties displayed their activities in the stalls all around the mela ground. Faculty of Agricultural Sciences participated in registration process at the mela entry and distributed University calendar, pen etc to all the visitors and recorded their addresses. The faculty also participated in Kisan Chaupal conducted both days from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and provided University printed ID’s to the farmers. The faculty coordinators also recorded their feedback about millets and University.

            The admission team displayed and distributed University Calendar in dedicated stall and all around the ground occupied by school students for painting and other grounds.

The Faculty of Medical Health Sciences, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (Department of Food & Nutrition) and Faculty of Indian Medical System carried out health check ups of the visitors. A dedicated team of doctors and nutrition experts participated on both days.

            The admission team displayed their visuals at all locations throughout the area. The mass media (Photography and videography team) and digital media covered all the activities during the event on both days.

            Around 150 faculty members including students participated in the event.
